Catharsis | kəˈθɑːsɪs | noun
The process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.
From Greek katharsis, from kathairein ‘cleanse’, from katharos ‘pure’.
These are my catharsis through gaming streams. You'll rarely get to hear my voice providing commentary, but you will hear me chatting with the chat.
I'm an Australian streamer who has been gaming for years (I still have a Minecraft world save from January 2011!) but only recently decided to share that experience with more people than who can squeeze in around the computer screen.
Min-maxing and breaking games through exploiting their rules and algorithms might be fun, but it is often more validating (and effective from a cathartic viewpoint) to just muddle our way through.
It's fine to switch off the hyper-competitiveness and just play (Smurfing is not allowed!). It often has a secondary effect of being calming (some viewers have said my streams are great to study to) and just being an all round good thing to chill to.
Prizes?
That's right. I'll be running giveaways over the coming weeks with a variety of Steam codes to be given to lucky viewers each week. Giveaways will be based on the StreamElements loyalty system, with viewers gaining 1 point per minute of stream watched, and 500 points for following.
Users who are active in chat will gain 10 points every 10 minutes that they're active in chat.
So, you can earn 2 points a minute for watching a stream and being active in chat.
All users who join the stream will be given one free entry to the giveaway for that week, with the opportunity to purchase extra opportunities in that giveaway (up to a reasonable maximum) by using their available points.
NOTE
In order to actually be in the giveaway, you need to drop in to chat at least once during the giveaway period and claim a ticket with !enter.
In order to be fair to global viewers, I will be adding additional streams to give all global viewers a reasonable chance of success in each draw.

9. Relating to Rule 8, sometimes topics will come up in chat and be handled sensitively. If you can't act responsibly while that happens, you will be banned.
10. UA's chat is not a marketplace. No selling or trading of accounts or goodies of any kind.
11. Yes, backseating is fine, but UA doesn't have to always follow your ideas. Don't take it personally. Sometimes it might be more entertaining to see him fail.
