C-PTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) changes how the nervous system reacts to connection. For many of us, social interaction can feel unsafe—not because we don’t want love or friendship, but because our bodies have learned to protect us by withdrawing.
When I don’t respond right away, seem quiet, or struggle to connect, it’s not personal—it’s my system saying “this might not be safe yet.”
This is part of healing from trauma, especially trauma that involved betrayal, emotional neglect, or chronic fear.
✨ I crave community, but I also have to move slowly, gently, and with intention. Thank you for holding space for that. ✨
