IronCrucible's Kick Channel
Takes some effort to stumble onto this channel.
Well, anyway...
Greetings, fellow wanderers of the web, ne'er-do-wells and nomad knights, femme fatales and leading ladies alike.
Welcome to Iron Crucible. A dark forge of streaming, painted occasionally by a pool of fiery light wrought of inspiration.
I'll be your host, known elsewhere on the internet--as Markus Vindictus.
Also here on streams, joining for commentary and whatnot, will be Helbereth. Whether he'll also be streaming anything at whatever point, will be up to him.
To have fun and try to laugh at my in-game mistakes, of which, rest assured, there shall be many.
It's also to be a celebration of video games here. Whichever among them are thought cool (by me or by others) or game-changing, so to speak. I'll choose a game to play from my collection, and then stumble through as normal.
And, no, it's not exclusively games that are open for discussion. Could be art, could be music, could be books or whatever suits people's fancy. Since a lot of the games I play involve some aspect of storytelling, it's a given that storytelling itself could become a topic.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at roughly 7:00 p.m. EST.
Granted, this is an intended schedule, not to be confused with something written in stone. Some days may be missed. As well, I can't and won't rule out the possibility of a stream being broadcast on other days of the week.
#1: Be civil with fellow viewers and the host or hosts; remember, boomerangs return to their point of origin.
#2: Foul language is fine, verbally or textually celebrating Canadian geese can be viewed as eyebrow-raising behavior.
#3: Eating food while watching is okay, but if I can help it I'll avoid eating anything messy on stream; this isn't ASMR and I like to keep my keyboard and controller grease-free.
#4: For students. No matter if you're in public school, home education, or college, do your homework before watching; not getting it done, and done right, only hurts yourself.
Daggerfall Unity was fun, until it wasn't. It was almost entirely bug-free. Emphasis on almost. No matter its flaws, the game still has a depth not found in many modern titles. Maybe someday I'll go back to it, though that'll probably not be the GOG version.
And so, I go from one Bethesda title to another Bethesda title. While yes, this does mean I'm risking future game crashes, it also means I'll be playing through a pretty good title.
Fallout 3 came along years ago. I didn't get it on PS3 because, word was at the time, the version on that platform was badly in need of fixes. Not until years later did I decide to go for it, although this happened to be on PC. The version I have runs...mostly smooth.
It's my hope to actually complete a playthrough of, at the very least, the main plot. There's also plenty of DLC side-quests to take on, so that could make for a multi-multi string of streams concerning Fallout 3.
Still facing down Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I've been enjoying it so far.
Outside of that I've been playing a little bit of Thief Gold, which itself is its own kind of addictive.
As well, I started a first playthrough of Halo 4. I'll try to hold back from critiquing. So far, it's at least a pretty game.
I've been at the video game player thing for a while. By while, I mean decades. Fan of many, master of few.
Started in the '80s with the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari 400/800, and later a NES. With the '90s came SNES, N64, then PlayStation. As the 2000's rolled in, PlayStation 2 arrived, shortly followed by Nintendo GameCube. Late in the platform's lifespan, in 2011, I went for a PlayStation 3.
Even nowadays I'm introduced to titles that are new to me. Of late I mostly play stuff on PC.
The following lists of titles are but a snippet.
Atari:
Pole Position
Miner 2049er
NES:
Kid Icarus
Castlevania
SNES:
Mortal Kombat II
Chrono Trigger
N64:
Wave Race 64
Turok - Dinosaur Hunter
PlayStation:
Grandia
Parasite Eve II
PlayStation 2:
Onimusha
Silent Hill 2
GameCube:
Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4
Playstation 3:
Metal Gear Solid 4
Mass Effect Trilogy
...And beyond.
Outside of video games, I've also interest in movies, whether science fiction, fantasy epics, action, westerns, historical fiction, comedy, every once in a while a drama. As for books, I've got a number of those, too, most of which are of the fantasy or science fiction varieties.
