Lidsy, a gamer surviving on Dr Pepper & dabs, got zapped by lightning mid-ragequeue. She woke in a cream pond, surrounded by smug axolotls judging her gameplay. One leapt into her mouth—cold, slimy, disgusting. She blacked out, then awoke burning with fury.
"TAKE ME HOME!" she screamed. The axolotls hummed, opening a portal. She landed back at her DEFEAT screen, shaken. In the bathroom, her reflection showed purple eyes... then fins, a tail. "CHANGE BACK!" she begged—and did.
Then, a voice in her skull: "We are one now."
"WE ARE WHAT?!"
"Axolotl-human. I left my family for you."
