Who?
Professionally, I'm a software guy, mainly having been employed by many many large websites, including many that you've used. I do this streaming thing as a distraction and to debug some software I wrote for DJs as a fun little side project.
What Kind of Music?
What gets played? Well, you know those videos where something falls down a mountain and sometimes it hits a tree and you think to yourself "Oh whew!" but then the thing continues and it hits another tree and ... well, that keeps happening until it finally gets to the bottom of the mountain and then it explodes? Similar.
Hardware/Software in Use
This stuff gets moved around depending upon what is being tested. My typical configuration lately has been:
- MacBook Pro M1 Max
- macOS Monterey
- Roland DJ-202
- Mackie MC-250
- OBS Studio
Although sometimes I will stream from:
- AMD TR 2950x
- Linux
- Keyboard and Mouse
- OBS Studio (custom compile)
Software will usually be Serato DJ Pro, but sometimes it will be something else (DJUCED, MIXXX, Traktor, Virtual DJ, ...) if I need to test stuff.
