I'm That Autistic Guy, I've finally given in to the Kick demons & made a channel for gaming, chatting & AMA's about my experience with Autism and Tourettes (I'm happy to try and answer any questions, but nothing going to offend or upset me, it's ok to ask)

Hi, I'm Josh and I'm your Autistic Guy,
I'm from the UK and Have Tourettes syndrome and Asperger's syndrome (or High Functioning Autism if you prefer), hence why I twitch a lot and sometimes I may be unintentionally offensive when I'm trying to explain something or my brain is 5 steps behind my mouth
My streams are Mature only so I can be more open and I don't have to worry as much about what I'm saying
I'm a comedian/Twitch streamer, and Jewish agnostic
in my free time like to retreat to the safety of all the shows I liked as a child and Comedy of the good old days

Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication, social interaction, and behaviour. Autism is a spectrum disorder, which means that the symptoms and severity can vary widely from person to person. Some common characteristics of autism include difficulties with social interaction, challenges with verbal and nonverbal communication, repetitive behaviors or interests, and sensitivity to sensory input.
Autism is usually diagnosed in early childhood, and the exact cause is not fully understood. Research suggests that a combination of genetic and environmental factors may contribute to the development of autism. There is currently no cure for autism, but early intervention and specialized therapy can help individuals with autism learn and develop important skills, improve their quality of life, and reach their full potential.

Asperger's Syndrome, also known as Asperger's Disorder (Where I am on the spectrum), is a neurological condition that is part of the autism spectrum. It is named after the Austrian paediatrician Hans Asperger, who first described the syndrome in the 1940s. Asperger's is characterized by difficulties in social interaction and communication, as well as restricted and repetitive patterns of behaviour and interests. People with Asperger's may have trouble with nonverbal communication, such as maintaining eye contact, understanding sarcasm or irony, and interpreting social cues. They may also have intense interests in specific topics or activities, and a preference for routine and predictability. It's important to note that Asperger's is now considered part of the broader category of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) according to the latest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).

Tourette syndrome, often shortened to Tourette's or TS, is a neurological disorder that typically begins in childhood and involves repetitive, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. Tics can be either simple or complex, and they can involve movements such as eye blinking, shoulder shrugging, or facial grimacing, as well as vocalizations such as throat clearing, grunting, or shouting.
The severity and frequency of tics can vary greatly from person to person, and they can change over time. In addition to tics, individuals with Tourette's may also experience associated symptoms such as obsessive-compulsive behavior, anxiety, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). While there is no cure for Tourette's, medication and behavioral therapy can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life for individuals with the condition. It's important to note that people with Tourette's can lead full and productive lives and should not be defined by their condition.

Context matters, Take whats said into account before you DECIDE to take offence
English only
I don't mind questions about the Aspergers or Tourettes, but I want to be clear that it's NOT offensive to ask questions and don't worry about how offensive you think the question might be, its not going to offend me and I'm happy to try and help from my own experience
Disclaimer: I'm not speaking for the Autistic or Tourettes communities, all answers are from my own perspective but there are traits of each
Be civil in the chats
abuse and personal information such as real names and addresses will be removed.
URLS will also be removed unless I explicitly allow the link in chat
I'm a free-speech absolutist
aside from:
Threats of harm (if I'm playing a game and saying I want to "harm" an NPC etc, this obviously doesn't apply)
Causing offence for the sake of it
(what I mean by this is, if a word that is considered offensive is being used in the context of a discussion, don't assume the intentions of the person and find out the whole point before jumping to conclusions)
